1970's
BLUE RIDGE CONTRACTORS IS FOUNDED
Paragon Homes traces its roots back to 1977, when the company began as Blue Ridge Contractors, a small but highly skilled firm specializing in custom siding, roofing, and window replacement and remodeling throughout Northern Virginia. What started as a craftsmanship‑driven exterior company quickly earned a reputation for precision, reliability, and hands‑on expertise.
1980'S
BUILDING FOR THE REGION’S LARGEST HOMEBUILDERS
The team expanded into residential construction, building production homes for some of the region’s most respected national builders — including Ryan, Ryland Homes, Pulte, and Stanley Martin. This period shaped Paragon’s foundation in large‑scale building operations, quality control, and disciplined project management. Their work became known for consistency, structural integrity, and the ability to deliver at scale without compromising craftsmanship.
1990's
CUSTOM HOME AND LAND DEVELOPMENT
Paragon Homes evolved again — moving beyond production building into true custom home construction. The company began purchasing land, designing communities, and developing property, bringing together craftsmanship, engineering, and land vision under one roof. This decade marked Paragon’s transition from a skilled builder into a full‑scale developer, shaping the foundation for the luxury, acreage‑based homes they are known for today.
2000's
ENERGY INNOVATION AND DOE COLLABORATION
Paragon Homes began working closely with the U.S. Department of Energy, shifting its focus toward building high‑performance, energy‑efficient homes.
